By Dr. Les Malo
It has been an honor for me to serve as your
chairman for the last two years. While serving I have had the
opportunity to interact with our Mayor, City Council members, City
Manager, Police and Fire Chiefs and our cities Economic Development
Team. We all worked together to serve our city. What I discovered
was that in Garden Grove both government and business realize that
only by our combined efforts can we make this city all that it can
be, thereby improving the lives of its citizens.
The Chairman of the Chamber cannot do the job alone, so I wish to
personally thank our president, Connie Margolin and her assistant
Joan for the tremendous efforts they make on the Chamber of
Commerce’s behalf. I would also like to recognize the amount of work
done by those who serve you via volunteering to take positions on
your Board of Directors. They receive no pay and are willing to take
time away from their businesses and families to the benefit of all
of us.
We can be proud of what we accomplished these past two years. New
challenges will present themselves in the future and I know that the
Chamber’s good people working together will continue to move our
city forward.
Thanks for the opportunities, thanks for the memories.
Les
